Statement of Purpose:

My design for an Iraq War Memorial consists of a 100 foot bronze statue of President George W. Bush (done in a realistic style) ramming an American flag down the throat of dead Iraqi. The president’s left shoe rests on the Iraqi’s head as he thrusts the flag in his mouth. These two figures will sit on a base of human skulls – a skull for each American soldier who dies in this war. The skulls will be made of copper so that as they age they will be turn a different color than the statue. Engraved on each skull will be the name of a dead soldier and the phrase “Support the Troops.” This memorial will sit in the middle of the proposed site.

I want visitors to this memorial to understand that thousands of Americans died so that our President could force his ill-conceived vision on the Middle East, all to no end.
